On Tuesday, Legendary quarterback Brett Favre called it quits after a stellar 17 year career. Being a life long Green Bay Packer fan, and being born and raised in Wisconsin, this news hits home. It was relatively expected, but shocking none the less. He meant a great deal to the people of Wisconsin and especially those in Green Bay. Click here to view his farewell press conference or HERE to view a clip from one of his most heroic performances, when he threw for 399 yards against Oakland less than 24 hours after his fathers untimely death.

The press conference was so heart wrenching! I nearly started to cry as Bret was choking back his tears. I'm not a "Cheesehead" like you but I really respect Bret for being a great athlete (even at our age!) for so many years as well as what appears to be a good family man, father and role model. I think he'll survive his retirement better than most, after all he still has those Wrangler endorsements... did you hear that someone in Green Bay had twins last week and they named them, yep, you guessed it, Bret & Favre!
So how hard do you think it will be for that back up quarterback to step in and fill the shoes of Brett Favre? I heard he's decent, I think his name is Aaron Rogers or something like that. Those are some big shoes to fill...Good Luck!
OMG..What are we going to do. I thought Montana or Magic was bad but I was crying right with Bret. He embodies good values and strong family and has always been an inspiration to us. My son plays football in college and in his words,"Bret is the Man!"
Having never lived in Wisconsin, I don't think I am a true Green Bay fan but when I started getting into football Green Bay was the first team that I became a fan of especially when LA doesn't have their own pro team.
Favre was an excellent player and he had a long career far longer than most. But I think it's time to let someone else take over. Aaron Rogers who I hope will take over is a great player. I'm also a huge fan of the California Golden Bears (Berkeley) so I got to see him play, so I can say with confidence he is a really good. We all need to give him a chance
